Eco Intimates is an Australian-owned small business based in Northern NSW. I personally design every collection, creating comfortable, functional pieces for everyday wear before working closely with my makers in Bali to bring each design to life.

I work directly with three small, home-based sewing businesses in Bali rather than large-scale factories.

I work closely with my makers from sampling through to production, refining fit, construction and finish along the way. I personally visit each of the workspaces where Eco Intimates garments are made around 2-3 times each year.

These direct relationships allow me to know who is making our garments and to see first-hand where and how they work.

• My makers set their own sewing prices.
• They determine when they can take on production and how long they need to complete it.
• I purchase and supply the fabrics and trims separately.
• Once we agree on a production order and sewing price, I honour the full order and agreed price.
• Production quantities are kept intentionally small.
• I personally visit 100% of the locations where our garments are made.

I have direct relationships with the people who make Eco Intimates garments and discuss working expectations with them as part of our ongoing relationships.

I expect everyone involved in making Eco Intimates garments to:

• Work voluntarily, with no forced or child labour.
• Work in a clean and safe environment.
• Be treated fairly and without discrimination or harassment.
• Have control over their working hours and workload.
• Be free to accept or decline work.
• Be free to organise or associate with worker groups.
• Be able to raise concerns directly with me without fear of affecting our working relationship.
• Agree to the price paid for their work.

I visit each of our garment-making locations around 2-3 times each year. These visits allow me to see the working environments first-hand, discuss production directly with my makers and maintain an ongoing understanding of how and where our garments are made.

Natural fibres are at the heart of Eco Intimates. I believe what touches your skin matters. That's why I choose natural fibres wherever possible, sourcing certified organic cotton alongside carefully selected natural fabrics chosen for their comfort, breathability and longevity.

For some collections, I also source beautiful natural fabrics that inspire me, such as cotton voile, cotton lawn and silk from trusted small suppliers. While these fabrics aren't always certified, I choose them because of their quality, comfort and longevity.

For coloured organic cotton collections, I occasionally custom dye organic cotton in Bali using DyStar Remazol® reactive dyes. I am continuing to gather further information from my suppliers about dyeing processes, chemical management and wastewater treatment.

I believe sustainability should be transparent. My goal is to provide as much information as possible about the fabrics, dyes and printing processes I use, allowing you to make informed choices about the products you purchase.

Products made from certified fabrics will be clearly identified on each product page so you can easily see which fabrics are certified.

Creating supportive, durable lingerie using natural fibres sometimes requires compromise. While I always aim to use the most natural materials possible, there are currently some limitations within the textile industry.

• Our core organic cotton stretch fabric is 90% organic cotton and 10% elastane.
• A small amount of elastane is used in stretch fabrics to provide comfort, shape retention and durability.
• Some collections use conventional cotton and silk where certified alternatives are not currently available or suitable.
• I am continuing to improve the certification and traceability information available for the fabrics I use.

Rather than striving for perfection, I focus on making thoughtful, informed choices that balance comfort, durability and environmental responsibility. I'll always be transparent about the materials I use and continue looking for better alternatives as they become available.

Every Eco Intimates collection is produced in small batches rather than mass manufactured.

I use previous sales and, where appropriate, pre-orders to help determine how much to make. This allows me to avoid unnecessary overproduction while working at a scale that suits the small businesses I work with.

Once I place a production order with a maker, I honour the full quantity and agreed sewing price regardless of how the garments subsequently sell.

During production we plan cutting carefully to use as much of each piece of fabric as possible and minimise offcuts.

Eco Intimates garments are designed and produced with longevity in mind. Where possible, I repair or alter garments to extend their useful life rather than replacing something that can be fixed.

Eco Intimates has never destroyed or disposed of unsold stock.

Pieces that don't sell immediately are kept and offered again in future, marked down where appropriate, or given another purpose.

Faulty, returned or imperfect garments may be repaired or altered in-house, sold as seconds, repurposed, or kept as development samples.

I have also donated garments when appropriate, including clothing for people affected by flooding.

My aim is always to find another use for a garment rather than treating it as waste.

Packaging is kept minimal and plastic-free wherever possible.

Finished garments are shipped to Eco Intimates with minimal packaging. Where protective plastic is required during transport, garments are bulk packed rather than individually wrapped.

As Eco Intimates grows, I’m committed to improving materials, trims, packaging, production and transparency while keeping comfort, quality and ethics central to every decision.

I am continuing to improve the certification and traceability information I hold for my fabrics and suppliers, and I'll update this page as that information becomes available.
