As a tiny brand, my business practices are so different—not just from large companies but even from other small businesses creating similar products.

For me, sourcing fabrics and trims means purchasing overflow materials—what bigger brands have left behind. It’s not quite “deadstock,” but it’s close. Many lingerie supplies require minimum orders of 10,000 units, so I work with what’s available—often organic or recycled materials that others have already chosen. While this can feel a little restrictive, it’s also incredibly rewarding to reduce waste and give surplus materials a new life in my designs.

What also makes me different is my hands-on approach. I’m not just designing; I’m involved in every aspect of my business. From choosing fabrics to perfecting fit, packing your orders, and even answering your emails, it’s all me! This level of personal connection means every piece you receive has been created with care, intention, and a commitment to sustainability.

Unlike many SMEs, my focus is on creating small, thoughtful collections that reflect timeless design and avoid the cycle of fast fashion. I don’t follow trends—I create pieces that last, both in quality and style.

Thank you for supporting me, Madonna, and my little brand, Eco Intimates. Your choice makes a huge difference, not just to me, but to the way we move towards a more ethical and sustainable fashion industry.

      Warmly,
      Madonna

      Eco Intimates sustainability and ethics

At Eco Intimates, I believe what touches your skin matters. That's why I choose natural fibres wherever possible, creating timeless lingerie that's breathable, comfortable and made to be worn and loved for years.

Eco Intimates is an Australian-owned small business based in Northern NSW. I personally design every collection before working with my long-term makers in Bali to ethically produce each piece in small batches. Every decision I make is guided by comfort, quality and transparency.

      Australian Owned

Eco Intimates is an Australian-owned small business based in Northern NSW. I personally design every collection, creating comfortable, functional pieces for everyday wear before working closely with my long-term makers in Bali to bring each design to life.

      Our Makers

I work with a small group of skilled makers and small studios in Bali. I work closely with them from sampling through to production, refining fit, construction and finish along the way.

      • Long-term working relationships
      • Small-batch production
      • Regular quality control and fit refinement
      Our Fabrics

Natural fibres are at the heart of Eco Intimates. I believe what touches your skin matters. That's why I choose natural fibres wherever possible, sourcing certified organic cotton alongside carefully selected natural fabrics chosen for their comfort, breathability and longevity.

For some collections, I also source beautiful natural fabrics that inspire me, such as cotton voile, cotton lawn and silk from trusted small suppliers. While these fabrics aren't certified, I choose them because of their quality, comfort and longevity.

For coloured organic cotton collections, I custom dye OCS-certified organic cotton in Bali using DyStar RemazolÂŽ reactive dyes. This allows me to create unique colours while maintaining the quality of the organic cotton. Because the fabric is dyed after certification, the finished fabric is no longer OEKO-TEXÂŽ certified.

I believe sustainability should be transparent. My goal is to provide as much information as possible about the fabrics, dyes and printing processes I use, allowing you to make informed choices about the products you purchase. Products made from OCS and OEKO-TEXÂŽ certified fabrics will be clearly identified on each product page so you can easily see which fabrics are certified.

Creating supportive, durable lingerie using natural fibres sometimes requires compromise. While I always aim to use the most natural materials possible, there are currently some limitations within the textile industry.

      • Our Natural and Black organic cotton fabrics are purchased from OCS-certified suppliers and are OEKO-TEXÂŽ Standard 100 certified.
      • To create additional colourways, I custom dye OCS-certified organic cotton in Bali using DyStar RemazolÂŽ reactive dyes. Because the fabric is dyed after certification, these custom colours are not OEKO-TEXÂŽ certified, even though the base fabric is certified organic cotton.
      • A small amount of elastane is used in stretch fabrics to provide comfort, shape retention and durability.
      • Stretch fabrics containing elastane cannot be commercially dyed using plant dyes alone.
      • Deep shades, such as black, cannot currently be achieved using natural dyes at a commercial scale.

Rather than striving for perfection, I focus on making thoughtful, informed choices that balance comfort, durability and environmental responsibility. I'll always be transparent about the materials I use and continue looking for better alternatives as they become available.

      Small Batch Production

Every Eco Intimates collection is produced in small batches rather than mass manufactured.

Producing this way allows me to refine fit, reduce waste, maintain quality and avoid unnecessary overproduction.

      • Smaller production runs
      • Less excess stock
      • Thoughtful seasonal colour releases
      • Work with other small business. women led.
      Packaging

Packaging is kept minimal and plastic-free wherever possible.

      • Cream tissue wrap
      • Compostable mailers from Better Packaging
      • No unnecessary marketing inserts
      Journey to Better

Sustainability isn't about being perfect. It's about continually asking better questions and making better decisions.

As Eco Intimates grows, I’m committed to improving materials, trims, packaging, production and transparency while keeping comfort, quality and ethics central to every decision.
