As a tiny brand, my business practices are so different—not just from large companies but even from other small businesses creating similar products.
For me, sourcing fabrics and trims means purchasing overflow materials—what bigger brands have left behind. It’s not quite “deadstock,” but it’s close. Many lingerie supplies require minimum orders of 10,000 units, so I work with what’s available—often organic or recycled materials that others have already chosen. While this can feel a little restrictive, it’s also incredibly rewarding to reduce waste and give surplus materials a new life in my designs.
What also makes me different is my hands-on approach. I’m not just designing; I’m involved in every aspect of my business. From choosing fabrics to perfecting fit, packing your orders, and even answering your emails, it’s all me! This level of personal connection means every piece you receive has been created with care, intention, and a commitment to sustainability.
Unlike many SMEs, my focus is on creating small, thoughtful collections that reflect timeless design and avoid the cycle of fast fashion. I don’t follow trends—I create pieces that last, both in quality and style.
Thank you for supporting me, Madonna, and my little brand, Eco Intimates. Your choice makes a huge difference, not just to me, but to the way we move towards a more ethical and sustainable fashion industry.
Warmly,
Madonna

SUSTAINABLE FABRICS
Eco fabrics are the core of my brand, so of course I choose the best natural and eco-textiles to create my pieces. However, I also believe that it's important to be selective about where I source our textiles from in order to enhance their sustainability credentials.
The fashion industry is fickle and inherently produces a lot of wastage. Therefore, as a boutique producer, I have developed strategies to use certain textiles which are surplus from larger producers’ production runs. Being a small scale producer means that unless you are ordering thousands of meters of fabric or trim, you have to use what is already available.
However, my quality standards for all materials are non-negotiable; I have minimum standards for my quality and eco-textile sources which I am firmly committed to!
ORGANIC COTTON
I use a variety of natural fabrics in my ranges. The main 2 fabrics I use are a organic jersey and a stretch organic cotton (with 10% elastane). Both are purchased from a company that supplies OCS certified organic cotton and Oeko-tex certified dyes (the best we have found so far)."With OCS certification, textile products can trace their origins from organic raw materials to the final product. This provides consumers with confidence that the product truly meets global organic standards. Organic materials, such as organic cotton, are produced without the use of pesticides or harmful
chemicals, making them more environmentally friendly compared to conventional products."
GOTS is a global organic textile standard that is focused on the finished product certification. Something I aim for once I am able to. The Global Organic Textile Standard is an organisation to ensure the organic standard of textiles from raw materials and each manufacturer must adhere to the guidelines in order to have a licensed and certified GOTS textile.
Why Choose Organic Cotton?

DESIGNED IN AUSTRALIA

OUR MAKERS
For manufacturing I have chosen to partner with 3 home based businesses in Bali. I work closely with each of these makers during the sampling to manufacturing process and each business dictates the cost of sewing each piece.
Once I have my designs ready to be made, I travel to Bali to purchase fabrics, and start the sampling process with each of my makers. I recently hired a production manager, Lista, to assist me with producing my ranges. Lista will be managing my teams for me, managing the quality control process and shipping to me in Australia.
SUSTAINABLY PRODUCED
The main benefit of working with small producers is each of my pieces are handcrafted, not mass produced. Sustainability, to me, is an emphasis on high quality materials, hand-crafted with high quality sewing to create beautiful products that can stand the test of time.
Ethically I have consciously chosen not work with bigger factories, that can make clothing for much cheaper. By choosing to work with the smaller makers, not only am I able to support the Bali community, but can have more flexibility in what I produce with smaller quantities, more colour options, and have control over the quality of each of my designs.

Packaging & Shipping
I have always been vigilant with wastage and I personally dislike excess packaging. As reorder packaging I try to make the most earth friendly decisions I can. I am slowing moving over my hang tags to compostable materials and I don't use any plastic in my packaging.
When I ship and order each one is wrapped in cream tissue paper, a printed packing slip and I proudly use COMPOST BAGS from Better Packaging. I dont put excess marketing material and if I do I keep it small and recyclable. Each of these options can be reused, recycled or put in your green waste.

Journey to better - my ongoing sustainability goals
I am proud of my products and the small way they contribute to offering a more positive alternative to mass produced garments. By using organic or natural textiles and small scale ethical production I aim to create consciously better garments that last.
However, I also know that like anyone in the fashion industry, I still have improvements that I can make in order to reach my ultimate goal, which is to create minimum impact or harm to the planet.
Even though I am only a small business, I believe that it is my responsibility to invest in improving all aspects of my brand so that it can holistically create the least harm to our environment and planet as a whole.
